Kidding, y’all. Just kidding. I hit a wall today. I’m not putting an excerpt up tonight, because it’s been a weird day, brain issues acting up and so forth. I’m putting up the excerpt anyway. It’s about half of what I wrote.

The Battle of the Eraser

“Identify yourself, soldier!”

Setetenepini’s hands went up. Sergeant Tilukese Piturerelu Susuliretitu, once Corporal Tilu, held her service revolver level, rock steady. If she depressed the trigger, a small metal projectile would be electronically accelerated to five times the speed of sound. That projectile would make a four millimeter hole between Setetenepini’s eyes. It would also make an exit wound on the back of her head roughly the size of a grapefruit.

“Sergeant Nikilili Ileileru Setetenepini, service number 445-52-8880,” Setetenepini replied, fighting back panic. Somehow, she’d survived the Eraser. Moon base Shield of Faith had been Erased by the enemy, had fallen, was no more; and only Setetenepini would ever remember it had existed. She should have been Erased, too, but somehow, she was still here.

No one had ever heard of her, however. This was problematic.
